I just want to post about the recent update to the Tunewiki App. As you can see here The customer reviews are all complaining about the app having access to a lot of information that is not needed to run the app. And the developer has not stated anything here in the forums or on the app in the market place about why they need all this information. The following was copied and pasted from the Tunewiki app description located in the Android marketplace...

So can a moderator please verify why the permissions are the way they are, and try to help bring the community back to using Tunewikis phone app once again. Because since this last update there are many users that are upset and wish to not use this app anymore. From what I have read the main reason for the uprising is because of the SMS and MMS part of the permissions.

I am working on gathering more info on this new permission. I'll post up a detailed run down when I have all the info. Be assured, there's no nefarious plan to read your text messages. =)

Alright, I chased down all the info on this. In the newest update we've added the ability to play content from MMS messages directly in TuneWiki. This required the app to have access to the SMS/MMS system. The only time TuneWiki accesses the messaging system is when a user asks it to play content from a message.

Due to the overwhelming user response to this new feature, we will be removing it. We working on getting the change into a hotfix we already planned. The hotfix should be out in a week or so and will removed the MMS feature and the permissions to access SMS/MMS.

If you have any other questions let me know.

Thanks for the reply, Im sure the community at large appreciates the explanation about the issue. If possible in the future could Tunewiki post notes here in the forums about any updates in the future. Just an idea to help avoid confusion in the future. Thanks again for the information and quick response.
