Hello,

This program is running in the background of my thunderbolt. I am currently running the 2.3.4 gingerbread leak from a couple weeks ago. This thing is killing my battery. When ever I go to phone status in the settings and then battery and battery use, this program is constantly in the 20% tile of my battery usage. Most of the time its in the mid 20s and is a higher usage then my display is using, which I have turned down to around 25% brightness. I DON'T EVEN USE THE PROGRAM. So I don't understand how its that high. I can not uninstall the program, the option isn't even selectable. Nor is there an option in the program to stop background running. I guess now I see why people do root their devices. Which where I think I am headed to do next. Any tips or comments are appreciated.

Thanks,
Duckie

Hello Duckie

We can't really support unreleased software such as your gingerbreak leak.
The best thing I can suggest is to ensure you're running the latest version of TuneWiki and perhaps to revert to a properly released version of the Droid OS.

My phone is stock 2.3.3 unrooted (Pantech Breakout) and I'm having the same problem. TuneWiki is running in the background and sucking up to 50% of my battery life. I even went in to set up a profile and account, turned off GPS, etc, and it doesn't help. Still killing my battery.

Software was preinstalled, I don't want it anyway, so it's particularly irritating. Any way to shut it down or remove it?

Hello Jeremy

I'm not sure why your device battery is being drained. I'll pass your message along to our QA department for investigation.
As for removing TuneWiki, I'm afraid that is not possible because you have purchased a device that comes with TuneWiki preinstalled and is required to remain on the device as per the purchase agreement.

Jeremy,

From your home screen if you go to Menu > Settings > Applications > Running Services Does TuneWiki show up in the list?

I am seeing the exact same behavior, Tune wiki is using crazy battery amount, and has 9h+ of keep awake time per the battery usage monitor - and the service + 2 processes are listed in the show running application tab. My phone is simply never going into standby, which destroys the battery life.

Hope this gives some help in diagnosing
