Blocked Artists & Why we can't host their lyrics

Hello TuneWiki Fans!

From time to time you may notice that we do not have any lyrics for the following artists:

A Perfect Circle
Aerosmith
Alan Jackson
Billy Joel
Enya
Foo Fighters
Howard Goodall
James Taylor
Jewel
John Lennon
Lee Alexander
Nirvana
Paul McCartney
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Savage Garden
Sesame Street Workshop
Stevie Wonder
The Mars Volta
Tool
Tracy Chapman

And when you try to add the lyrics you may get a message saying that the publisher has blocked the lyrics from being added.
This is not our fault.

Because TuneWiki is a legal service (unlike the majority of lyrics websites on the internet) we must comply with any wishes that the publishers and artists have about their lyrics.

This can change! We know EMI want to give us the rights to host the lyrics but they can't. Let us help them by showing as much public support as possible.
Please reply to this topic. Your reply will be included in a petition with EMI to allow us to host the lyrics.
If we get enough people supporting us then we can show the EMI that our users really want the lyrics and then something can be done about it.

Since it was my question that generated this discussion, I obviously feel a petition is necessary. I also created a note in this regard as well as pasted this site address on my status on my Facebook page. Speak up and voice your opinions here please! Thanks TuneWiki!!!

I really support this petition. I'm very interested on A Perfect Circle's Lyrics. And of course many other great artists working for EMI.

Is Sheryl Crow on those group of artists?
When it display that lyrics are not available for my regin is the same thing?

Man....Its the end of the world....when u try to listen to a TMV song (the mars volta) and REALLY wanna understand it.......but they wont let you....i support this....Although...i do know a way to get around it.....

Just because some people use tunewiki for a karoke style tool most of us don't. Lyrics are very nice to have built right into the player.

i support this petition and its really frustrating to see lyrics of my favourite songs get removed.what the heck they are going to achieve by removing the lyrics and so does users reading it.
